How does mobile data pricing work?
We love to keep it simple at Kiwi Mobile so here it is: you only pay for the data you actually use at full speed.
On the Choice plan (we reckon this is best for medium to heavier data users), you start each month with a base of 5 GB of fast data. That works out to around $1.30 a day, or roughly $39.50 a month.
Need more data during the month? That’s totally sweet and we give you options.
- Keep using data at a slower speed (1.2 Mbps) for the rest of the month at no extra cost. That’s endless data, just a bit slower.
- Or, you can level up to a higher data tier to get more high-speed data. You’ll only pay the higher daily rate for the rest of the month. No fixed bundles, no overpaying for what you don’t need.
Let’s break it down:
Say you only used 9 GB in a month, you’d pay around $44 total. Compare that to a traditional 15 GB plan for $65, where you'd be paying for unused data. That’s the difference.
Because pricing is calculated daily, it adjusts automatically. Switch tiers halfway through the month? You’ll only pay the higher rate for the remaining days.

That means even if you use up your fast data for the month, you can keep using data at a slower speed (1.2 Mbps) for the rest of the month at no extra cost, with no cut-offs. Or you can move up the tiers automatically to keep higher-speed data. But you’ll only pay the higher daily rate for the rest of the month. This means you only pay for the data you need. One month you might use lots of data and another it’s a bit more quiet - this plan flexes with you automatically.
