When roaming in Fiji, Cook Islands, Western Samoa, Vanuatu, Tonga and Papua New Guinea it costs $1.15 per minute to receive calls on your device. Calls rounded up to next whole minute. In most cases it's best for you to call your family and friends. Nauru is covered by Digicel Fiji.​​

Make sure to turn your devices Network Search mode to Auto

• On Android devices => Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > Select 5G/4G/3G/2G (auto connect)
• On iPhones => Settings > Mobile Data > Network Selection > Turn on ‘Automatic’

Kiwi Mobile leverages the 2Degrees network. Details of the networks that provide roaming networks for 2Degrees overseas can be found on their website.

• Double check that you are travelling to one of our 100+ Daily Roaming destinations where you can use with your NZ plan for just $8/day.
• If you aren’t in a Daily Roaming destination, choose to text rather than call; or use WiFi Calling
• Limit potentially high data usage apps like sending emails, browsing social media and streaming music; this is where most of your roaming costs may come from. You can disable data usage for certain apps in your mobile's settings before you go.
• Make use of free public WiFi where available
• When WiFi is available, use WiFi Calling
• Download maps and online documents before you travel so you don't have to use data to access them when you arrive
• If it’s cheaper to make a call from your destination than to receive a call, we suggest asking your friends, family and colleagues to send you a text and let them know you’ll call them back whenever possible

If you have a device that is compatible with HD Mobile Calling or WiFi Calling, you may also be able to use calling/texting services on WiFi Calling and be charged at your standard call rates.

Just a heads-up—some countries, like the USA and Australia, are shutting down their 3G networks. In Australia, all 3G networks will be off as of 28 October 2024. If your phone isn’t up-to-date, you might not be able to use voice services while roaming. To avoid any hassles, make sure your phone supports VoLTE roaming before you go.
