Kiwi Mobile pSIM
A pSIM is basically your regular physical old SIM card we’ve all been using for years.
Opted for an eSIM? Or just curious what the heck that is? Head over to our eSIM page.
Otherwise, if you've just received your SIM card by courier and need to know what’s next, or just want some more basic info - you're in the right place.

I’ve just received my SIM, now what?
Your physical SIM card will be automatically activated on your selected connection date. If you want to get going sooner, drop us a line on live chat.
If you’ve selected a new Kiwi Mobile number:
Just pop the new SIM into your device and you're away. Billing begins either 14 days after activation or upon first usage, whichever happens first. We’ll send you an email reminder on day 13 to let you know that billing will start the following day.
If you’re bringing across the number from your old provider:
On your selected connection day (we will remind you via email), you will receive a message from 2542 to your old SIM asking if you want to port.
- Reply yes within 2 hours (if you miss the two hour window let us know on live chat)
- From there, keep your Kiwi Mobile SIM on hand as your service will cut out in the two hours following. Once this has taken place (you’ll see the reception bars disappear on your phone) you can pop in that new Kiwi Mobile SIM.
- For more information around porting, check out this page.
My SIM still hasn’t arrived
You will have received a tracking email for your SIM when you joined - so check that it hasn’t gone into spam or anything like that. There’s a link in the email you can access to keep an eye on the delivery status. If in doubt, contact the team on live chat and we can take a look.
What Physical SIM sizes does Kiwi Mobile offer?
The SIM card we send is a 3in1. Basically this will allow you to 'pop out' the SIM to whichever size you need, where it's nano/micro/regular.
What should I do if my phone isn’t picking up my SIM?
- Check the SIM is inserted correctly and the tray properly closed
- Have a look for any obvious damage on the SIM cards itself
- Give the SIM card and slot a wipe with a soft cloth to clear out any dust that might be causing issues.
If all else fails, restart your device - and if that doesn’t help, drop us a line on live chat.
What do I do if my SIM card is showing it is locked?
If your SIM card is locked due to entering the PIN code incorrectly multiple times, you may need a PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code to unlock it. Head over to this page for more info.
What do I do if my SIM card gets damaged, lost or stolen?
Contact us immediately on live chat to organise a replacement, and in the case where it's lost/stolen place a block on your SIM. Our lost and stolen page has more details on that side of things.
How do I put the SIM into my phone?
This will differ slightly by device, but you'll need to locate the SIM card slot (often found near the battery or on the side).Remove the SIM tray using a pin or SIM eject tool that came with your phone, place the SIM card into the tray, and then put the tray back into the device.
If in doubt, check your phone's user manual, or have a cheeky google search (there’s heaps of youtube videos on that sort of thing if you’d prefer).
Can I use my SIM card in another device?
Yup! Just make sure the phone you're putting it in is unlocked and supports the same type of SIM card (ie: standard, micro, nano).
