Mobile switch process explained

How do I sign up and can I keep my number?

Signing up is as easy as filling out a few details here. So in just a few minutes, you’re good to go and have the savings start rolling in. We’ve looked at how we make everything as easy as possible for you. Long gone are the days of standing in line at a store waiting your turn. You can get started now or whenever suits you.

You can bring your current number with you (no charge for moving this over), or grab a new one, it’s totally your call.

Once you’re signed up, you’ve got two SIM options:

  • Physical SIM: We’ll courier it to you.
  • eSIM: If your phone supports it, you can get going instantly. Just download your digital SIM and boom — you’re connected. No waiting on the post.

Most phones support eSIM, though smartwatches and tablets aren’t covered just yet.

Kiwi Mobile runs on the 2degrees network, which covers 98.5% of places Kiwis live and work. So if you’re coming from One NZ, Spark, or 2degrees, you’ll get similar coverage and performance.

Once you’re in, you manage everything through the Kiwi Mobile app or website. You can check your usage or change data tiers, add buddies, or grab roaming packs. It’s all there in the app for you to sort.

It’s a bring-your-own-phone setup, so you’ll need an unlocked device, but pretty much any phone that works on Vodafone/One NZ, Spark, or 2degrees will be good to go.

No contracts. No new handset needed. No stress.
